SBANE is a non-partisan business corporation not organized for profit. Membership in this Association is composed primarily of individuals, partnerships business trusts, governmental bodies and corporations desirous of fostering the growth and health of small businesses and the entrepreneurial spirit.
The Board of Directors is ultimately responsible for determining how best the SBANE membership is served as well as the how its policies and programs benefit the small business community as a whole. Through the mission and vision of SBANE, each director commits to following the highest of ethical standards and demonstrates a respect for the organization’s membership and guiding principles.

Philip M. Papoojian is the COO of Mereco Technologies Group Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Protex International. Prior to the acquisition by Protex, he was the President & COO of Mereco Technologies Group Companies since 1997. Mereco is a manufacturer of specialty formulated epoxy, urethane, silicone and other resins used in the electronics, solar cell, LED, battery, fiber optic, fuel cell, and and BIPV/OPIV industries. He has been in manufacturing for all of his 35 year career in a variety of technical and executive positions in the chemical, plastics and rubber businesses. Philip has an MBA with a finance concentration from Anna Maria College, an MS in Plastics Engineering from University of Massachusetts Lowell, and a BS in Chemistry from Fitchburg State College. He has also completed the Executive Marketing Program, in residence at the University of Michigan. Phil is a past Chairman of the Board of Directors of SBANE.
Andrew P. Botti advises business owners, corporate executives, and in-house counsel on a wide range of complex business, commercial, and construction litigation matters. He focuses his practice on business torts, trade secrets, minority shareholder litigation, and trademark/trade dress infringement cases. Attorney Botti has tried a variety of cases in District, Superior and Federal Courts—including employment discrimination, product liability, and business disputes—and has appeared before numerous administrative and legislative agencies. Edward Ostrowski currently serves as a Board Member and Executive Committee Member as Treasurer.Ed Ostrowski has been involved in small business growth and strategy for over 30 years. He was the founder and CEO of Optima Worldwide Shipping Inc. and Optima Shipping Systems Inc., until its acquisition in 2004. Ed founded GoldStar Advisory Services and formed an alliance with a Swiss based business establishing global joint ventures for distributing consumer products in the USA. As Chairman of the Board of SBANE for four years and a Director for eight years, Ed helped the organization become the premiere resource for small business throughout New England. He currently serves as CEO of GoldStar Advisory Services Inc., specializing in business planning and growth strategy.Ed holds a BSBA in Marketing and MBA in Finance and has served as a student mentor and participant in MIT entrepreneurship (e-lab) program.
Lawrence S. Nannis C.P.A. (Larry) has more than 40 years of experience serving small, privately-held businesses and their principals. His primary focus is in providing growth, financial and tax management advice to entrepreneurial companies at all levels of the growth curve. In addition, he works with many small businesses who receive their research and development funding from the government through the SBIR program, Broad Agency Announcements and direct budget appropriations (Plus-Ups and Earmarks).Within these areas of expertise, he has developed financial management systems to help companies transition from Researching technologies to Manufacturing a product. These financial management systems not only provide information to help the company manage their growth but also meet the requirements of accounting for Federal awards and the Internal Revenue Service.Larry is the Immediate Past Chair of National Small Business Association, the oldest small business advocacy organization in the county, and has served as an officer and director of the Northeast Chapter of the National Defense Industrial Association and Chairman of the Smaller Business Association of New England (SBANE). As a member of these groups, Larry has been active in advocating for legislation that will insure that Small Business remains the economic engine of today’s economy. Since 1972 Ford has been an independent Insurance Broker currently partnering with Felton Berlin & Erdmann for personal property and casualty coverage, Cleary Insurance for commercial business insurance, and Partners Benefit Group for employee benefits. His website is www.fordspalding.com.
Ford has served as a member and Chair of the town of Dover Board of Selectmen, Warrant Committee and School Committee. He was co Chair of the Dover Regional School Building Committee. He is currently on the Dover Board of Fire Engineers and Caryl Community Center Board. He is the past Chair and current Vice Chair of the Minuteman Career & Technical High School Board and the Chair of the Minuteman Building Committee.
Ford has been a member of SBANE since the 1980′s serving on the Government Advocacy Committee and the Board.
