U.S. Senator Edward Markey Visits Boston Engineering, Leads SBANE Technology and Innovation Roundtable

Waltham, Mass. June 9, 2014 — U.S. Senator Edward Markey (D-Mass.) met with Massachusetts high-tech business leaders today at Boston Engineering’s Waltham headquarters. Boston Engineering hosted the Smaller Business Association of New England (SBANE)’s “Small Business Roundtable,” which focused on legislation that may impact the technology industry. “The time I spend with small business leaders in Massachusetts is invaluable and strengthens my commitment to investing in our small businesses and entrepreneurs. Small businesses are America’s economic engine, fueling innovation, competition and economic growth,” said U.S. Senator Edward Markey. “I thank SBANE for continuing to convene great companies and their leaders who provide critical insights into the opportunities and hurdles that entrepreneurs face. I will continue to work to make sure our small businesses in Massachusetts and throughout the country have access to the tools to innovate and succeed.” “Senator Markey’s participation in SBANE reflects his ongoing support for emerging businesses in New England,” said Robert Baker, president, SBANE. “His role as a member of the U.S. Senate’s Small Business and Entrepreneurship Committee highlights Senator Markey’s longstanding focus on fostering small business growth.” “We are proud to host Senator Markey and SBANE as part of our commitment to playing an active role in the Boston-area business community,” said Bob Treiber, president and co-founder of Boston Engineering. “As a board member of SBANE, I see significant value in sharing best practices with other area executives, and hearing new perspectives from government leaders.” Senator Markey_Boston Engineering_BIOSwimmer overview_060914 About SBANE The Smaller Business Association of New England, Inc.
