Welcome SBANE Member Primary Source's New Executive Director

Dear Friends, When Julia informed the Board about her decision to leave Primary Source after nine years to return to the world of schools, we knew that we had a significant task on our hands. Although happy that she is bringing her passion for global education to students in Ann Arbor, Michigan, we were reminded of how important it is to have a strong leader at the helm of Primary Source. The Board promptly started communicating with the staff, Board, and stakeholders to better understand the kind of leader Primary Source would need moving forward, after 25 years of successful programs for K-12 teachers. We wanted someone with a strong commitment to quality professional development, a respect for teachers, and a vision and skill set to bring global learning from a local to a national community of educators. On behalf of my fellow Board members, I am happy to share the news that we have found this ideal leader in Jennifer Boyle.

Jennifer BoyleJen brings a diverse background to Primary Source, having spent her career in both the private sector and in domestic and global education. She began in advertising, sales, and management in both the advertising and television industries. Jen also worked as a teacher at Mother Caroline Academy in Dorchester, which ignited her passion for education and prompted her to dive headfirst into education and nonprofit management. Jen spent a year as a volunteer living in Mombasa, Kenya, which reinforced her commitment to education and gave her a profound appreciation for the global world in which we live. She has since worked on five continents supporting various education initiatives. Jen was the Executive Director of The Maranyundo Initiative, where she helped build and launch the Maranyundo School for girls in Nyamata, Rwanda. She continued her work in international education by supporting school growth and development in South Africa, Indonesia, Israel, Mexico, India, and Chile. Jen holds an undergraduate degree from the University of New Hampshire and a Master in Public Administration from the Harvard Kennedy School of Government. We are thrilled to have Jen joining us as Primary Source’s next Executive Director. She has already been working closely with Julia to ensure a smooth transition and officially starts in her role on June 15. Please join me in welcoming Jen Boyle to the Primary Source family. Her energy, her commitment to global learning, and her deep belief that more students should have access to the world are inspiring. Sincerely, Rosemary Pisano Rosemary Pisano Rosemary Pisano President of the Board of Directors To connect with Jen, please feel free to email her at jboyle@primarysource.org or call her at (617) 923-9933 ext. 112.
