SBANE Holds Annual Meeting in Waltham

U.S. Senator Scott Brown gives Keynote, 10 member companies receive Profitable Connections Awards

WALTHAM- SBANE’s Annual Meeting, held Monday, October 17th at the Westin Hotel in Waltham brought out nearly 300 business owners to elect the Board of Directors, listen to Senator Scott Brown’s keynote speech and witness 10 fellow members receive a “Profitable Connections Award”. After electing the new Board Members, attendees networked; some having a chance to meet United States Senator Scott Brown. Senator Brown kept his tone light during his keynote address, promising not to make too many jokes and admitting when he does, they often get him into trouble. He spoke frankly about what he saw as major problems, particularly, the Democrats failed attempts to fix the economy and spark job growth. He stressed the need for a bipartisan jobs bill in Congress. “The thing that’s frustrating to me is that there’s no Democrat bill that’s going to pass, folks. There’s no Republican bill either,” he was quoted as saying in a Boston Globe Article about the event. “Let’s stop playing games.” After Brown’s keynote, ten member companies were honored with the Annual “Profitable Connections Award”.  These awards represent meaningful results that were achieved by SBANE in collaboration with the award winner in identifying a successful financial or matchmaking solution to a current challenge of opportunity. These companies were: Abpro, Inc, Lexington, MA, Beacon Interactive, Cambridge, MA, Boston Engineering, Waltham, MA, Diamond Antenna & Microwave Corp, Littleton, MA, New England Wheels, Billerica, MA, Perfection Fence, Marshfield, MA, Pharmasol Corp, South Easton, MA, S12 Technologies, Billerica, MA. Bob Germino of the Massachusetts Growth Capital Corporation in Boston, MA and David Radoccia of Meridien Benefits, Inc in Providence, RI were also honored.
