Judges chose eight winners from an impressive pool of 204 nominees WALTHAM, Mass., May 9, 2013- The Smaller Business Association of New England (SBANE) has announced the eight winners of the prestigious 2013 SBANE New England Innovation Awards. The winners, narrowed from a list of 20 finalists, were announced at the May 8th Evening of Innovation program held at the Westin Hotel, Waltham, MA.
In December, SBANE teamed up with RunLittlefoot to support a great cause to provide much needed shoes to children and adults in need*. We are happy to announce that, thanks to your generosity, it was a huge success! We collected 117 pairs of shoes: 22 pairs of children's shoes (mostly brand new) are headed to Cradles to Crayons in Brighton, where they provide homeless and low income children with the essentials they need to thrive and 95 pairs of adult shoes will be distributed to shelters in Boston.

Valerie Benedict, Communications and Programs Director for SBANE for the past nine years, has retired and will return to San Antonio, Texas. Valerie has accepted our offer to continue as SBANE's designer/developer, so you will still see her influence in our brochures and promotional materials. I am pleased to announce that Susan Barber has accepted the position of Communications and Programs Director for SBANE. Susan brings a wealth of experience to this position and is a welcome addition to our staff. Some of you may have already met Susan as she has been a familiar face at some of our events.
