For Immediate Release Three Member Companies will find out where on the list they rank. WALTHAM- Three member companies of the Smaller Business Association of New England (SBANE) made the Boston Business Journal’s List of the “2011 Best Places to Work” and will find out on June 9th how they ranked on the list. Ember Corporation made the list, which is grouped according to “small”, “medium” and “large” and joined SBANE is in 2011. Alexander, Aronson, Finning and Co., CP and Wolf & Co., PC also made the list in the “medium” category. Both companies became SBANE members in 1996.
WORCESTER- The Smaller Business Association of New England (SBANE), in conjunction with the law offices of Mirick O’Connell hosted “Capital Solutions for Small Business” on Wednesday at Mechanic’s Hall in Worcester. Charles Grigsby, Interim President of the Massachusetts Growth Capital Corporation (MGCC) was the featured speaker. He was joined by a panel of four others who either provided services for small business or had received services from the MGCC. The speakers were focused on letting local area business know that there are resources available to them and that these resources work.
While in Washington, President Baker plans to meet with Senator Brown and Representatives Markey and Tsongas WALTHAM, Mass., May 25, 2011- The President of the Smaller Business Association of New England (SBANE), Bob Baker will head to Washington tomorrow and will have lunch with Senator Scott Brown (R) of Massachusetts. This will be Baker’s first introduction to the Senator since he took office in January of 2010.

The Senate Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship released a statement on Wednesday, May 11, 2011, announcing that Representative Mary Landrieu has filed a one year extension of the Small Business Innovation Research(SBIR) and Small Business Technical Transfer(STTR). "I hope that we can provide, if only for one year, some sense of certainty for the businesses that partner with the government, and I urge my colleagues to support its continuation, " Representative Landrieu said in the May 11th statement.
