How to build, attract and retain businesses in Rhode Island
As the second part series of "Economic Climate 2010," Rhode Island State Attorney General Patrick C. Lynch will share his perspective and address the state's current business climate, specifically how it can be improved in the areas of attracting and retaining businesses, access to capital, as well as the ongoing concern of the unemployment problem. Lynch will also address his strategies for finding solutions on the issues of competitive taxation, budget balance, pension reform, regionalization and lasting education system reform. It will be interesting to see how different the Attorney General's approaches are from Governor Independent Candidate, Lincoln Chafee.
Since taking office and currently serving a second term, Attorney General Patrick Lynch has been a strong advocate for civil rights and improving the legal protections of our most vulnerable citizens; children and seniors. In 2008, he created an Open Government Unit within the Office of Attorney General where he passed Government Integrity legislation which allows the Attorney General to investigate and prosecute elected officials for public corruption crimes. Lynch was elected as President of the National Association of Attorney General (NAAG) in 2008. Lynch received his undergraduate degree in Economics and Political Science from Brown University in 1987 and later earned a J.D. from Suffolk University Law School in 1992.
