Mercury Computer Systems Inc. of Chelmsford will pay $70 million to acquire a pair of companies that make electronic warfare and intelligence-gathering systems. Mercury is buying KOR Electronics Inc. of Cypress, Calif., which makes digital radio and radar test gear, as well as Paragon Dynamics of Aurora, Colo., which provides intelligence analysis and exploitation services.

KOR specializes in equipment that can prevent the detection of military aircraft by jamming an enemy’s radar systems and sending inaccurate information to other electronic sensors.

Paragon makes software that can combine intelligence data from multiple sources, like video cameras, radar, and radio intercepts, to present a unified picture of events on the battlefield.

Mercury said it expects to close the deals for both companies before the end of the year.
