SBANE feels that innovation is at the heart of economic prosperity and SBANE continues to recognize those companies that have transformed their innovative ideas into a product or service that delivers proven value to customers. The New England Innovation Awards Program was started in 1986 and, since then, almost 200 companies have won this prestigious award. Nominations from a wide variety of companies are welcome. Former nominees have come from varying fields such as technology, manufacturing, services, life sciences and medical devices, non-profit, and retail/distribution.

The Competition Process: The Three Events
The program encompasses three distinct phases and events.
- The Reception for Nominees and Judges: Held in mid-March, this is the first opportunity that the nominees have to present their innovation in front of a panel of 3-4 judges. The nominees are given 15 minutes to speak, with limited use of technology. A reception precedes and follows their time slot with the judges.
- The Finalists Presentation: Held in mid-April, the top 20 Finalists will each have 3 minutes to present to the entire group of judges, SBANE Partners, Board members, and other invited guests. Finalists may also have an opportunity to demonstrate their innovation. A reception follows for all guests.
- The Gala Awards Presentation and Dinner: Held in early May, the winners will be announced at this sit-down dinner presentation.
