Isis employs 83 people in its R&D and manufacturing facility in the emerging “Knowledge District” in Providence, RI.

Latitude Beverage is a virtual winery located in Boston. The company’s leading brand, Ninety+ Cellars, provides consumers access to world class, luxury wines at a fraction of their traditional cost. The company accomplishes this through an innovative sourcing and distribution model that removes signifi cant cost from wineries traditional supply chain models. The company, now in its second year, is profitable and achieved a 13% EBITA in 2009, first quarter of 2010 growth is 192%.

Founded in 1988, Roca is a youth development organization committed to serving the most disenfranchised and disengaged young people ages 14-24 (street/court/gang involved; drop-outs; young parents; and refugee and immigrants) in the Greater Boston area including the communities of Chelsea, Revere, East Boston, and Charlestown, MA. Roca’s mission is to help these young people move out of violence and poverty.

Sage Science is committed to manufacturing and growing in Massachusetts, hiring locally, and using local suppliers and service providers.
Sionex introduces the microAnalzyer Chemical Sensor. This instrument is capable of detecting dangerous compounds at parts per trillion levels. The microAnalzyer is shoe box sized and performs on par with floor mounted laboratory instruments costing 10 times more. This unit protects people by detecting carcinogens in drinking water, explosives and road side bombs, even disease on exhaled human breath.
UTEC’s promise is to ignite and nurture the ambition of Lowell’s most disengaged young people to trade violence and poverty for social and economic success. Through programming in street outreach, gang peacemaking, education, employment, and youth organizing, UTEC serves over 1,500 young people of Lowell, ages 13 to 23.
